How verification works
Serfolio documents the work. The institution decides what counts.
Participant joins a project
A participant applies for or claims an opportunity and is accepted by the organization.
Scope is defined
The project scope is locked once work begins. Any changes require a formal scope change request approved by both sides.
Work occurs through Serfolio
Time is tracked, tasks are completed, and communication happens on-platform. We document the actual work performed.
Deliverables are documented
The participant submits deliverables. The organization reviews them and either approves, requests revisions, or declines.
Organization reviews completion
The organization confirms the project is complete and verifies the documented hours actually worked.
Serfolio generates a verification record
A unique verification record is issued with a public verification ID and QR code for third-party lookup.
Third party determines acceptance
The participant shares their record. The school, institution, or organization decides whether it satisfies their requirement.
Documented vs. accepted hours
Serfolio documents the hours a participant worked on a verified project. Whether those hours satisfy a school, scholarship, or licensing requirement is always determined by the receiving institution — not by Serfolio.
